We are always accepting applications for Hospice Volunteers!
Volunteers are essential members of the care team for patients enrolled in a hospice program, providing comfort, companionship, and support to those facing life-limiting illnesses. Whether they are volunteers or interns, they offer emotional support and companionship to patients, whether at home or in skilled nursing facilities. Their involvement includes such non-medical roles as reading, playing games, enjoying music, singing, conversing, or simply sharing time together. This important work demands both integrity and sensitivity.
Important Considerations for Becoming a Hospice Volunteer
- You must be 18 years of age or older
- Must show empathy, dependability, and consider for others
- Capable of listening and communicating in a calm, non- judgmental way
- Must have your own transportation and car insurance
- Required to complete background check, TB test
- Complete Training Course
You will receive
- In-depth training
- Certifi cate of training
- Compliance with internship programs at most Colleges, Universities, and Nursing Schools
- Assistance and support from the Volunteer Coordinator
- Encouragement from a community of like-minded individuals
- A feeling of pride comes from knowing that you are positively infl uencing someone's life during their challenging moments.
